Martina Burgo

Martina Burgo

PhD Candidate

James Cook University

Martina recently commenced a AIMS@JCU PhD 2021. Her research focuses on seasonal dynamics of perennial and ephemeral macroalgae on the Great Barrier Reef. She is also interested in understanding how environmental gradients drive variation in spatial patterns of macroalgal assemblages and affect their demographic rates. In addition, she is interested in developing a predictive model of macroalgal assemblages on inshore reefs of the GBR under future scenarios of climate change and water quality. Her supervisory panel includes Prof Andrew Hoey (JCU), Dr Katharina Fabricius (AIMS) and Prof Morgan Pratchett (JCU).
