• Research assistant at the University of Bremen, Germany (2014 – 2015)

Laura grew up in Germany and discovered her love for the ocean during regular holidays in Italy. During her undergraduate studies she worked on a number of projects in different ecosystems, including the African bush, rainforests, lakes and coral reefs. The latter experience led to her decision to do her Master thesis under the supervision of Professor Christian Wild on herbivorous fishes in the Gulf of Thailand. After finishing her Master’s degree at the University of Bremen she moved to Australia in early 2016 to start her PhD in the Marine Spatial Ecology Lab at the University of Queensland under the supervision of Professor Peter Mumby. Her project focuses on macroalgal population dynamics and their control.
