ABSTRACT:

John Wolfenden is going to discuss aspects of resilience management from a guide titled “Resilience Management: A Guide for Irrigated Regions, Communities and Enterprises”.  The guide is from Researchers from the Cooperative Research Centre for Irrigation Futures (CRCIF), who have undertaken a number of projects under the general heading “Change at a Range of Scales”. These projects have sought to detail various drivers of change, and perhaps more importantly, detail some practical steps that irrigation communities can and/or are doing as a positive response. This framework has been written to bring the key findings from those projects, and together with some additional information on adaptive management and strategic planning, provide a more accessible reference for those who are interested in pursuing these ideas and concepts. The research project reports are available through the CRCIF website (www.irrigationfutures.org.au).
