 Research Interestsbaird_IMG_0799sml

I am interested in many aspects of coral reef science in particular, coral larval ecology and reproductive biology. I have also made significant contributions to understanding coral bleaching and the likely effects of climate change on coral reefs. My research interests at present include the evolution of coral life histories and understanding and predicting range limits of corals under a changing climate.

Below is a list of my current research interests:

– Coral reproduction and development         – Evolution of coral life histories
– Coral biogeography                                    – Coral community ecology
– Coral taxonomy and systematic                 – Natural barriers to nature disasters
– Traditional management of coral reefs in Aceh, Indonesia
