A great way to get experience in the field is by volunteering for post-graduate students. However, there are a number of procedures and steps that must be taken before undertaking any diving at JCU, including meeting with the University Dive Officer (Phil Osmond), having a minimum qualification of Rescue Diver, getting a current AS2299 dive medical, and having up to date qualifications in First Aid, CPR and Oxygen Administration.
