Postdoctoral Research Fellowship: Integrated Planning for Coastal Catchment and nearshore marine waters

Job Level(s):  Research Academic Level B, Research Academic Level A
Location:  James Cook University, Townsville

Position Statement

The appointee will work with partner organisations to develop an explicit conceptual and technical framework for integrated coastal planning applicable to north Queensland, the Asia-Pacific region, and more generally. Development of the framework is expected to identify gaps in data and modelling capabilities that become research priorities for this and other projects. We seek applicants with strong modelling or analytical skills and an interest in any scientific area relevant to integrated coastal planning and decision-support systems. These include geographic information systems, catchment modelling, conservation planning software, ecosystem-based management of coastal and marine areas, multi-criteria analysis, implementation of conservation action, and institutional arrangements for effective planning.
