Abstract
Coral species have been defined primarily using morphological discontinuities. However, breeding experiments and genetic analyses have shown that these morphological boundaries do not constitute impenetrable barriers to gene flow. How then are morphologically distinct units maintained in the face of gene flow between species? We are exploring this question using high-density oligonucleotide arrays to perform comparative genomic hybridizations between two highly-fertile coral species: Acropora millepora and A. pulchra.
